HOT PIZZA DIP
1 pkg Cream Cheese, softened (8 oz)
1 tsp Italian Seasoning
1 C Mozzarella Cheese, shredded (4 oz)
3/4 C Parmesan Cheese, fresh shredded or grated (3 oz)
1 can Pizza Sauce (or spaghetti sauce works too)
1/4 C Diced Toppings (olives, green peppers, etc.)
1 Baguette (or I like to use Bollilo rolls...you find them at your local bakery, they're football
shaped and they hold more and are softer...or you can use Club or Ritz Crackers)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350*F. In small bowl, combine cream cheese and seasoning mix; spread onto bottom of mini-baker. In small bowl, combine mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese mixture over cream cheese mixture. Top with pizza suace, spreading evenly. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese mixture. Bake 15-20 minutes or until bubbly. Top with bell pepper. Service with Toasted Baguette or Bollilo Bread Slices.
To Toast the bread slices. Slice baguette or bollilo rolls into 1/4-1/2 inch thick slices. Arrange on baking stone or cookie sheet. Lightly brush each with olive oil (or canola oil). Bake at 375*F for 10-12 minutes ... or, what I like to do is brush the tops with the oil and then put them under a low broil just until the tops are golden brown. That way you get a crispy top and crust but the bread stays soft. Or serve with crackers.
Serves: 20
(or 2-4 if you eat them as a meal :o) LOL!)
